The neem (Azadirachta Indica) is one of the most revered tree in India. Also referred as "tree of life", this native tree of India, is known for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antinflammatory properties. It also acts as a contraceptive agent. Neem is a magical tree and each part of the tree - its leaves, fruits, flowers and bark are all useful. The neem leaves are used for its medicinal properties. In India, the margosa (Neem) is valued more highly for its capacity to exercise the demon of disease than the spirit of the dead, and for Indians, it represents and an image of the folk goddess Sitala. It is said that goddess Sitala can often be seen suspended from a neem branch where she guards against small pox. Today, Neem’s compounds are widely used in cosmetics, toiletries, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.

Neem for Skin
- Neem leaves and neem oil is helpful in treating a number of skin problems.
- The neem leaves are used to treat chicken pox and warts. For this you can apply apply directly the paste of the leaf on the skin.
- Also boil the leaves in water and add it to the bath water. Taking bath using this neem mixture water helps in reducing itching, irritation and redness.
- It clears up acne and destroys any harmful bacteria on the skin.
- Neem is used in the natural treatment of eczema.
Neem Uses for Hair
- Applying Neem oil reduces hair loss.
- Massaging neem oil on the scalp reduces dandruff.
- Applying neem oil prevents premature greying of hair.
- Make the paste o f neem leaves and apply it on hair. This is a very good conditioner.
- Boil the neem leaves in water and use this extract to rinse your hair. This will stop the hair fall.
Neem Health Uses
- Diabetes : Neem is highly recommended to cure diabetes. Taking raw or fried neem leaves is very effective for diabetes. Also you can make a mixture of neem and lemon juice and have it regularly. Take 1 kg of fresh neem leaf and 1 kg of lemon. Wash this thoroughly and boil it in two liters of water till the liquid becomes half. Sieve to get the liquid and store it in a dry bottle. Consume one cup of it daily. Use this method for one month and then skip two weeks. Again start it. It cures the diabetes from roots.
- Athritis: Neem also cures arthritis. Using neem in the form of neem seed, leaf or bark naturally cure the arthritis. It also reduces the pain and swelling in joints. Neem oil can be used to massage muscle aches and joints and can be used to relieve pain from conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, gout, Osteoarthritis, lower back pain, etc.
- Blood pressure: It is also said that neem cures blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood clots.
- Immunity and Cleansing: Neem is a natural cleanser. It removes toxins from the body.
- Tooth and Gum Problems: Neem twigs have been in use from a very long time to brush teeth. Nowadays, neem toothpastes are available for curing gum bleeding, pain and other tooth problems.
- De-worming: Eating neem will help get rid of intestinal worms, thus performing its role as a de-worming agent and will help restore healthy functioning of the intestines.

- You can take raw leaves on an empty stomach.
